Haryana govt clears Rs 1,054 cr civil hospital for Gurugram, HSIIDC named executing agency

Gurugram: In a major boost to public healthcare infrastructure in Gurugram, the Haryana Government has appointed the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) as the executing agency for the construction of the city’s long-awaited new Civil Hospital.

The ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs 1,054 crore, is expected to significantly improve access to quality healthcare for residents of Gurugram and surrounding regions.

Announcing the development, Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said the state-of-the-art hospital will be built near the Police Lines in Gurugram. The project has been conceived to meet the growing healthcare needs of one of Haryana’s fastest-expanding urban centres and will provide advanced medical facilities to lakhs of people.

According to the minister, HSIIDC has been entrusted with the responsibility of executing and supervising the entire construction process to ensure the project is completed efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe. The government has also directed all concerned departments to expedite pending administrative and procedural formalities so that work can begin at the earliest.

The hospital has been planned in two phases to ensure both immediate and long-term healthcare requirements are addressed. In the first phase, a modern 400-bed hospital equipped with advanced medical infrastructure and specialized healthcare services will be developed. The second phase will add another 200 beds, transforming the facility into a comprehensive 600-bed healthcare institution capable of catering to the region’s rapidly growing population.

Health Minister Rao said the new Civil Hospital would strengthen the public healthcare system and reduce pressure on existing medical facilities. She noted that residents often depend on private hospitals for specialized treatment, and the upcoming government hospital will offer quality healthcare services at affordable costs.

Expressing gratitude to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Rao said his support had facilitated the early initiation of the project. She added that the hospital would emerge as a landmark healthcare institution in the state and play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare accessibility, affordability and quality for the people of Gurugram.

Once completed, the mega project is expected to become one of the most significant public healthcare facilities in Haryana, marking a new chapter in the city’s healthcare development.
