Dharmbir Bhangrola elected senior deputy mayor, Anoop Singh becomes deputy mayor unopposed in Gurugram

Gurugram : In a significant development for the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG), the elections for the posts of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor were concluded unopposed, reflecting strong consensus and coordination among elected representatives.

Dharmbir Bhangrola was unanimously elected as the Senior Deputy Mayor, while Anoop Singh was chosen as the Deputy Mayor of the civic body. The uncontested elections are being viewed as a positive indication of cooperation within the corporation and a collective commitment toward strengthening urban governance and accelerating development initiatives in the city.

As Senior Deputy Mayor, Bhangrola is expected to play a key role in facilitating coordination between the Mayor and councillors, while ensuring that public-interest issues raised in the House are effectively addressed. His position will be instrumental in supporting the functioning of the municipal council and advancing civic development priorities.

Anoop Singh, who has been elected Deputy Mayor, will be responsible for fostering better coordination between elected representatives and the administration. He is expected to contribute significantly to addressing civic concerns and improving public services across Gurugram.

Political observers and civic representatives have described the unopposed elections as a constructive step that strengthens mutual understanding and cooperation among councillors. Several dignitaries extended their congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers, including Haryana ministers Mahipal Dhanda and Rao Narbir Singh, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, and Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra.

The election process was conducted in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner and Returning Officer Sapna Yadav, and Municipal Secretary Dr Siddharth Khandelwal, among other officials.
