Gurugram : In a major step towards integrating emerging technologies into public administration, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday launched the Haryana AI Sandbox, a first-of-its-kind platform aimed at developing technology-driven solutions to governance challenges and improving citizen services across the state.
Launching the initiative in Gurugram, the Chief Minister described the AI Sandbox as a transformative platform that will strengthen Haryana’s commitment to innovation, transparency and citizen-centric governance while advancing the principle of Antyodaya—ensuring that government benefits reach the last person in society.
Addressing innovators, researchers, technology professionals, start-ups and industry stakeholders, Saini said the platform would create a collaborative ecosystem where government departments can present real-world challenges and technology experts can develop practical Artificial Intelligence-based solutions. These solutions will be tested in a secure environment before being implemented on a larger scale.
“AI Haryana, AI Governance and AI for Antyodaya will together shape a new era of citizen-focused administration and contribute significantly towards the vision of a Developed India,” the Chief Minister said.
Emphasising Haryana’s role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Saini said every application submitted by a citizen represents aspirations, expectations and hopes for a better future. The government, he said, is committed to creating a governance framework that is responsive, transparent and accountable.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Haryana views Artificial Intelligence not merely as a technological trend but as a powerful tool for social welfare and inclusive development. AI can help government departments make better decisions, identify public grievances more accurately and ensure faster resolution of issues, he said.
Explaining potential applications, Saini noted that AI could improve road maintenance through image-based identification of damaged roads under the Mhari Sadak App, assist in assessing teacher requirements in schools, strengthen healthcare by enabling early identification of serious medical conditions, and improve water supply management through predictive analysis of complaints and leakages.
Initially, the AI Sandbox will focus on five identified governance challenges. In the coming years, departments such as agriculture, revenue, urban development, transport, social welfare, environment and industry are expected to utilise the platform to develop innovative, technology-led solutions for public service delivery.
