Manesar: In a strong move to improve sanitation standards, Municipal Corporation Manesar has announced strict action against residents found dumping waste in the open. Commissioner Pradeep Singh has directed officials to implement a zero-tolerance policy, particularly targeting rental properties where garbage is thrown outside designated collection systems.
Under the new enforcement measures, house owners will be held accountable for waste dumped openly by their tenants. Authorities clarified that property owners will face challans for violations, and failure to pay fines could result in sealing of the premises. The directives were issued during a review meeting with the sanitation branch to assess and strengthen cleanliness arrangements across the corporation area.
To further enhance sanitation efforts, the civic body has announced a 15-day special cleanliness drive starting Monday. Commissioner Singh emphasized that no negligence in sanitation services will be tolerated and instructed sanitation agencies and officials to ensure strict compliance.
The Corporation is also intensifying its campaign against single-use plastic. Shops, hotels and markets will be closely monitored, and penalties will be imposed on those selling or using banned plastic items such as carry bags, cups and plates. The move is aimed at making Manesar a cleaner and environmentally responsible city.
Joint Commissioner Hitendra Kumar directed officials to maintain special vigilance at identified garbage hotspots.
Another Joint Commissioner, Lokesh Yadav, instructed sanitation inspectors to ensure that waste collection vehicles reach households on time and that garbage is properly collected. He warned that any open dumping found in a ward would make the concerned sanitation inspector accountable.
