Gurugram :The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has floated tenders for key road infrastructure strengthening and road safety improvement works in the city. These include special repair and development of service roads, special repair of Daulatabad Railway Overbridge (ROB), and a one-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for thermoplastic lane markings and allied road safety markings.
Under the Annual Maintenance Contract for thermoplastic lane markings, GMDA will undertake thermoplastic road marking works across Sectors 1 to 80 of Gurugram. Through this tender, over 100 km road length will be covered for works such as thermoplastic lane markings, zebra crossings and other related road safety markings. Additionally, any requirements raised during road safety meetings or received from the public as requests/complaints will also be taken up under this contract to ensure timely action on road safety measures.
In parallel, GMDA plans to develop and carry out special repair of service roads along Sector 51–57, Sector 52–57 and along the Sector dividing road 51–52, covering a total length of 7.5 km. The project will ensure through-and-through connectivity of these service roads. As part of the work, the green belts between the main carriageway and the service road will also be lowered, and footpath repair works will be carried out to enhance pedestrian safety.
Further, GMDA has also floated the tender for special repair of the 1 km Daulatabad Railway Over Bridge (ROB). The repair work includes resurfacing and strengthening of the road using bituminous concrete, and the work is planned to be completed within a period of six months.
“The works are being taken up to enhance road condition, improve connectivity and strengthen road safety measures in the city, through planned and time-bound infrastructure works,” said Amit Godara, Executive Engineer, GMDA.
