Big boost to urban development: CM Nayab Singh Saini approves Rs 127.87 Cr projects

Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday chaired a significant meeting of the High-Powered Works Committee (HPWC) of the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department at Haryana Niwas, Gurugram, during which major urban infrastructure and development projects across the state were reviewed and approved. Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel was also present at the meeting.

During the deliberations, the committee considered four project proposals with an estimated cost of Rs 136.64 crore. Of these, three tenders were approved after detailed negotiations with bidders, while re-tendering was ordered for the fourth project.

Following negotiations, the final cost of the approved projects was fixed at approximately Rs 127.87 crore, resulting in savings of nearly Rs 8.77 crore for the state exchequer. The move reflects the government’s emphasis on transparency, fiscal discipline and efficient utilization of public funds.

The approved projects include a tender for providing a water supply system to civic amenities and infrastructure-deficient areas in Faridabad town under the AMRUT programme. Another key project involves mechanized and manual sweeping of roads in the Municipal Corporation, Ambala City, aimed at enhancing urban cleanliness and sanitation standards.

In addition, the HPWC cleared the remaining Public Health Services, Electrical, HVAC and Firefighting works related to the redevelopment of the Shree Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Campus in Gurugram, a project of significant cultural and public importance.

Addressing officials during the meeting, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stressed the importance of timely execution of projects and strict adherence to prescribed quality standards. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening urban infrastructure, improving service delivery for citizens and ensuring complete transparency in public works.

The approvals are expected to give a major boost to urban development initiatives across Haryana, benefiting residents through improved civic amenities and better urban management.
