MCM removes over two dozen illegal outdoor advertisements in Manesar

Gurugram: The advertising wing of the Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) has launched a strict enforcement drive against illegal outdoor advertisements, removing hoardings installed on more than two dozen unipoles across the corporation area.

The civic body has warned that those responsible for unauthorized advertisements causing revenue loss to the corporation will face legal action.

As part of the drive, officials removed advertisements from over 28 unipoles located in sectors 76, 84, 85 and 86, Sati Chowk, Sikandarpur Badha village and nearby areas. According to officials from the advertising branch, these hoardings had been installed without obtaining mandatory permission from the municipal corporation.

The removal operation was carried out with the assistance of the local police to ensure smooth execution and to prevent any law-and-order issues during the drive.

Joint Commissioner Lokesh Yadav said that the municipal corporation had earlier issued warnings to advertisers and agencies involved in putting up unauthorized hoardings.

“Despite repeated notices, illegal advertisements continued to come up. The corporation will now adopt a zero-tolerance approach,” he said.

Yadav added that the MCM has completed a digital survey and GIS mapping of all its approved unipole sites. This will help officials easily identify authorized and unauthorized installations and strengthen enforcement in the future.

He further stated that strict action would be taken against any hoardings, unipoles or advertisement structures installed without prior approval from the corporation. The process of imposing penalties and registering FIRs against violators will be initiated as per rules.

The municipal corporation has made it clear that this enforcement drive will not be a one-time exercise. Regular inspections and removal operations will continue to curb illegal advertising, protect civic revenue, and maintain the city’s visual aesthetics.
