Gurugram: The Revenue Patwar and Kanungo Association Haryana has announced a two-day symbolic protest across district headquarters on August 26 and 27, intensifying its ongoing agitation over various pending demands. The association has also warned of an indefinite statewide strike if the government fails to address its concerns by August 27.
According to a memorandum submitted to the Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Haryana, patwaris and kanungos have been holding symbolic demonstrations in all districts since August 20. However, the association claims that no meaningful response has been received from the state government despite repeated appeals.
Revenue officials have raised concerns over persistent technical issues on the Naman Portal, which they say are disrupting day-to-day operations. The association has also objected to the implementation of the DCS survey, describing it as an impractical exercise that has been imposed on field staff despite their existing workload and responsibilities.
As part of the next phase of the agitation, patwaris and kanungos will stage symbolic sit-ins at district headquarters across Haryana on August 26 and 27. Association leaders said the protest aims to draw the government’s attention to the challenges being faced by revenue officials and the need for immediate intervention.
Satpal Patwari, a representative of the association, said, “Patwaris and kanungos have been peacefully raising their issues since August 20, but there has been no concrete response from the government. Technical glitches on the Naman Portal continue to hamper public services, while impractical surveys are adding to the burden on field staff. We hope the government will take our concerns seriously and initiate dialogue before the situation worsens.”
The association warned that if its demands are not addressed by August 27, it will be compelled to launch an indefinite strike from August 28. Such a move could affect land records, mutation work, and other key revenue services across Haryana, potentially impacting thousands of citizens who depend on these services daily.
