Gurugram : In a significant step towards strengthening legal research and professional development for advocates, District and Sessions Judge Narendra Sura and Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated the ‘APJ Abdul Kalam Bar Library’ at the Tower of Justice, District Court, Gurugram.
Equipped with modern facilities, the newly established library is expected to serve as an important hub for study, legal research, and the exchange of judicial knowledge among members of the legal fraternity. The initiative aims to provide advocates with access to enhanced learning resources and a conducive environment for professional growth.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the library would help create a stronger knowledge base for advocates and support their continuous pursuit of legal excellence. He noted that dedicating the library to Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam reflects the values of knowledge, duty, integrity, and justice that are essential to nation-building and the judicial system.
“A robust justice delivery system requires that advocates have access to quality study materials and research facilities. This library will provide legal professionals with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the law and enrich their expertise through continuous learning,” Sharma said.
The MLA also expressed gratitude to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and the state government for their support in enhancing infrastructure and facilities for the legal community. He said the government remains committed to improving resources for professionals associated with the justice system.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by District Bar Association Gurugram President Chandrakant Sharma, Secretary Rahul Dhanakhar, Vice President Rahul Sangwan, Joint Secretary Pawan Raghav, and several senior advocates and members of the District Bar Association.
Office-bearers and advocates of the District Bar Association welcomed the initiative and thanked the MLA for facilitating the establishment of the library. They expressed confidence that the facility would play a crucial role in promoting legal research, professional development, and academic excellence among advocates practicing in Gurugram.
