Rewari AIIMS gets approval for 50 MBBS seats; Classes and OPD services to begin soon

Rewari : The upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Majra in Rewari is moving closer to becoming operational, as the central government has approved 50 MBBS seats for the institute.

The announcement was made by Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, who confirmed that both MBBS classes and outpatient (OPD) services are expected to begin soon.

The Rewari AIIMS, which will be the country’s 22nd AIIMS, has accelerated its preparations for launch. Administrative recruitment has already begun, with All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi issuing advertisements to fill key positions.

Recruitment for other technical and non-technical roles is also underway.

According to official sources, the institute plans to hire more than 1,700 officers and staff members in total. This marks the first phase of large-scale recruitment by the AIIMS administration in Rewari.

Additional vacancies for technical and non-technical posts are expected to be announced soon.

However, some positions are still awaiting clearance from the Ministry of Finance. A proposal for approval has already been sent by the Union Health Secretary to the Department of Expenditure. Minister Rao Inderjit Singh stated that the pending approvals are likely to be granted soon, enabling the institute to complete its hiring process.

The minister emphasized that the appointment of doctors is crucial for the commencement of OPD services, and steps are being taken in this direction. He reiterated that recruitment across all categories will be expedited.

The AIIMS Rewari project, being developed with an estimated cost of Rs 1,700 crore, will have a capacity of 750 beds and is expected to significantly boost healthcare infrastructure in Haryana and surrounding regions.
