Gurugram : In a move aimed at strengthening the city’s road infrastructure and improving connectivity, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has invited bids for two key road development projects in Gurugram. The projects, with a combined estimated cost of around Rs 12.73 crore, are expected to enhance road safety and provide smoother travel for daily commuters.
According to officials, the first project involves the upgradation of the outer master road dividing Sector 114. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 7.73 crore and it is expected to be completed within eight months from the date of commencement.
Under this project, the main carriageway of about 750 metres will be strengthened to improve road durability and traffic movement. In addition, a central verge crash barrier will be installed to enhance road safety and reduce the risk of accidents. The project also includes the construction of drainage systems on both sides of the road to ensure proper stormwater management, especially during the monsoon season. Road furniture and other traffic safety infrastructure will also be installed as part of the development work.
The second project focuses on the special repair of the service road along the master road dividing Sectors 51 and 52 in Gurugram. The repair work will cover a stretch of approximately 1.05 kilometres and has been estimated at ₹5 crore. Officials said the project will be completed within six months.
As part of the work, the existing service road will be repaired and strengthened to improve traffic flow. Surface drainage systems will also be developed to prevent waterlogging.
Additionally, the adjoining green belt area will be lowered to facilitate better stormwater runoff. Installation of road safety features and other associated civil works will also be carried out to enhance the overall functionality of the road corridor.
Officials said these projects are part of GMDA’s broader efforts to upgrade the city’s urban infrastructure. Earlier this month, the authority had also floated a tender for the annual maintenance of GMDA roads from Sector 1 to Sector 23 for a period of 24 months to ensure regular upkeep of major road networks.
Once completed, these projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity, traffic management and commuter safety in Gurugram.
