Gurugram : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that Haryana is playing a vital role in India’s overall development and is moving rapidly on the path of ‘Viksit Bharat’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was addressing a district-level function in Gurugram on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day.
After paying floral tributes at the Veer Shaheedi Memorial, the Chief Minister unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade. In his address, he said Haryana follows the principle of “government of the people, for the people and by the people”, ensuring that welfare schemes are not only announced but also effectively implemented on the ground.
Highlighting Haryana’s economic strength, the Chief Minister said that although the state accounts for only 1.34% of India’s geographical area and 2.09% of the population, it contributes 3.7% to the national GDP. With a per capita income of Rs. 3.53 lakh, Haryana ranks first among major states. The state also leads in per capita GST collection and is a top achiever in Ease of Doing Business rankings.
He said Haryana has emerged as a preferred destination for domestic and global investors, with 12.92 lakh MSMEs established over the last 11 years, generating employment for nearly 49 lakh people. Gurugram has become a global hub for IT, startups and Fortune-500 companies, while industrial projects are expanding across Kharkhoda, Hisar, Sohna and Narnaul.
On youth empowerment, the Chief Minister said 34,000 government jobs were provided in the last year, taking the total to 1.80 lakh in 11 years, along with large-scale skill training initiatives.
He also highlighted women empowerment schemes, farmer-friendly MSP procurement, strong law and order, and technological advancements in agriculture.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Gurugram for contributing to the city’s growth as a blend of education, culture and modern development.
