Haryana CM announces ₹113.64 Cr development projects for Gurugram ahead of New Year

Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday announced a series of development projects worth ₹113.64 crore for Gurugram, reiterating the state government’s commitment to balanced and inclusive growth ahead of the New Year.

Addressing the Viksit Gurugram Maharally organised in the city, the Chief Minister said Haryana is progressing rapidly due to the “double-engine” government at the Centre and the state.

The rally was organised on the occasion of the birthday of Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma. Saini said the government’s vision is to ensure development reaches every section of society, both urban and rural. He added that out of 217 promises made in the Assembly election manifesto, 54 have already been fulfilled within a year, while work on 163 promises is currently underway.

During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of projects aimed at strengthening Gurugram’s civic infrastructure. Inaugurated works worth ₹72.96 crore include a multi-level car parking facility in Sadar Bazaar costing ₹55.20 crore and a community centre in Sector-14 at a cost of ₹17.76 crore.

Foundation stones were laid for several key projects, including an RMC model road and drain in Sector-16 (₹8.32 crore), sewerage and drinking water pipeline in Sector-17A (₹6.28 crore), a hostel in Sector-16 (₹6.67 crore), and special repair works in the new vegetable market (₹19.41 crore).

Saini said that development works worth ₹1,909 crore have been carried out in the Gurugram Assembly constituency over the past 11 years. Of the 67 announcements made for the area, 39 have been completed and work on 11 is in progress.

Highlighting pollution as a major challenge, the Chief Minister said the government is promoting electric buses and modern waste management systems to improve air quality. He emphasised that development must go beyond roads and buildings to improve overall quality of life.

The Chief Minister also announced several new initiatives, including construction of a new school building near Gurugram Police Lines, a modern sports hostel at Nehru Stadium, 30 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, early construction of the Civil Hospital, and upgradation of the Wazirabad PHC into a 50-bed hospital subject to land availability.

Additional announcements included development of Sadar Bazaar as a smart market, construction of a city bus terminal in Sector-29, over 100 km of smart roads, and ₹5 crore each for Gurugram, Sohna and Pataudi constituencies. The Chief Minister assured that long-term projects are underway to secure Gurugram’s drinking water needs for the next 50 years.
