Gurugram : The supply of domestic LPG cylinders in Gurugram remains completely normal, and there is no shortage in the district, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar said on Thursday. Urging residents not to believe rumours circulating on social media, he assured that the administration is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with oil marketing companies to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities.
The DC informed that a total of 58 gas agencies of HPCL, Indane and Bharat Gas are currently operational in the district. These agencies are regularly supplying LPG cylinders to consumers without any disruption. Gurugram has approximately 10.27 lakh domestic consumers and 9,923 commercial consumers, and adequate supply is being maintained to meet the demand of both categories.
Reiterating that there is no shortage of LPG, Ajay Kumar emphasized that all consumers are receiving cylinders on time. He appealed to citizens to avoid panic booking and rely only on official information.
Meanwhile, the district administration has intensified its crackdown on black marketing of LPG cylinders. District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) Ashok Rawat said that under the directions of the DC, strict action is being taken against illegal practices. Six teams are conducting daily field inspections across the district to curb hoarding and unauthorized sale of cylinders.
On March 19, during an inspection in Rithoj village of Sohna area, officials seized 56 domestic and 13 commercial cylinders. An FIR has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway. Authorities have warned that strict action will continue against violators to ensure fair distribution.
To make LPG booking more convenient, Indian Oil has introduced additional booking options. Consumers can now book cylinders through IVRS (8391990070) and a missed call service (8927225667). Booking is also available via SMS, WhatsApp, the Indian Oil One mobile app, and digital platforms like PhonePe and Paytm.
Officials added that a mandatory waiting period of 25 days for urban consumers and 45 days for rural/Ujjwala beneficiaries is in place between two bookings.
