Gurugram : The Gurugram district administration has ordered an inquiry into the tragic wall collapse incident at a construction site in Sidhrawali village that claimed the lives of seven workers and left four others injured.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has constituted a committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident. The committee will be headed by Manesar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Darshan Yadav and has been directed to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit its report within a stipulated time frame.
According to officials, the accident occurred late Monday night at a project site being developed by Signature Global in Sidhrawali. A wall at the construction site collapsed, trapping several labourers under debris. Seven workers died in the incident, while four others sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The district administration has said that the committee will examine all aspects of the incident, including possible negligence, safety lapses and adherence to construction norms. Based on its findings, responsibility will be fixed and necessary action will be recommended.
The inquiry committee comprises four members. SDM Manesar Darshan Yadav will serve as the chairman, while the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Pataudi, the District Town Planner (Enforcement), Gurugram, and the Executive Engineer-II of the Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads), Gurugram, will be members of the panel.
Earlier on Tuesday, SDM Darshan Yadav visited the accident site to take stock of the situation. During the visit, he inspected the area where the wall collapsed and reviewed various aspects related to the incident.
Officials said the committee will thoroughly examine the sequence of events leading to the collapse and submit its findings to the Deputy Commissioner’s office within the prescribed timeline.
The tragic incident has raised concerns over safety standards at construction sites in the rapidly developing Gurugram region.
Meanwhile, the brother of deceased Satish submitted a written complaint to the police regarding the incident on Tuesday. In the complaint, he stated that the construction work of the STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) at the Signature Global project site was being carried out by Balaji Construction Company (BICPL).
The complainant held Global City of Colors Company, Balaji Construction Company (BICPL), contractor Deendayal Sharma alias D.D. Sharma, Dineshveer (Project In-charge), Vikas Pandey (Site Structure In-charge) and the Safety In-charge Officer responsible for the incident. The complaint alleged that these individuals and entities failed to provide necessary safety arrangements and protective equipment at the construction site.
Based on the complaint received, Bilaspur Police Station in Gurugram has registered a case under the relevant sections of law and initiated further investigation into the matter.
